These are the first 40 rudiments.  George says he can do anything by knowing the rudiments

George once told me that all rudiments are a combination of strokes:

    Stick starts high and ends high after contacting the drum.     The stick starts high and ends low after contacting the drum.       The stick starts low and ends low after contacting the drum.       The stick starts low and ends high after contacting the drum.
